Francisco is a Founding and Managing Partner at Colombian Investment Bank Q&A since 2004 and is in charge of project financing, Merger & Acquisitions, syndicated debt and the real estate investment banking unit of the group.

During his work in Q&A he has financially structured around 1 million m² of GLA for high-profile Colombian real estate projects, gaining nationwide recognition as one of the leaders in the real estate structuring field.

Furthermore Francisco has created an extraordinary relationship with the largest local banks and development companies, due to his impeccable track record as up to date none of his financially planned assets has had a default.

In addition he has worked in over 70 projects across industries with diverse national or international clients, generating great returns, valued by those recurring clients by using Q&A as a preferred provider in investment banking services.

Prior to founding Q&A, Francisco was the Vice President of Project Finance in Helm Investment Bank, belonging to the Helm Banking Group with over USD 14 billion in assets, where he was in charge of all the project finance activities.

Preceding he was the CEO of Cross Border Financing for Suleasing Internacional, now part of the largest Colombian Bank Bancolombia, as well as in charge of leading financial product development.

Previous he worked with Colombian real estate development company Propiedad, part of the largest Colombian construction company Conconcreto, as the Commercial Manager of the Group.

Earlier he was the Director in charge of all national purchases, financing construction equipment and materials for Conconcreto, Colombia’s largest construction company which has partnered up with global construction giant VINCI.

Federico has extensive experience in the private and public sector, having served in high-profile positions in both.

In the private sector he was the Chief Executive Officer for some of the largest Colombian corporations and groups conducting business in various sectors. His main tasks consisted of strategic and financial planning, business development and leading company growth strategies. The positions he held were:

CEO of Cementos Andino until it was sold to Cementos Argos, part of the Grupo Empresarial Antioqueño, a Colombian conglomerate of 125 companies with a market cap of over USD 54 billion.

Financial Vice-President and Executive Vice-President of Holasa S.A., belonging to two of the largest Japanese corporations (JFE Holdings and Mitsubishi Corporation), with a joint market cap of USD 11 billion.

Vice-President of “Coltejer”, the largest textile manufacturer in Colombia with over USD 85 million in net sales.

CEO of Edospina, one of the leading water treatment companies in Colombia, which operates in sectors such as industry and oil & gas, with more than USD 15 million in annual revenue.

In the public sector Federico served as:

Vice-Minister of Defense for Colombia during Alvaro Uribe’s government, managing a budget of USD 7.8 billion, 15 corporations of the Ministry office as well as received national & international decorations.

Representative of the Colombian private sector during the negotiations and execution of the G-3 bilateral agreements between Colombia, Venezuela and Chile.

Main Consultant in New York for Federación Nacional de Cafeteros, where he executed the strategic plan for the creation of Juan Valdez stores. Since then, over 322 stores have been opened in Colombia and abroad, reaching an operating income of over USD 66 million in 2014.

Since 2005 he has been working as a Managing Partner of Colombian Investment bank Q&A.
